Thoughts on Inauguration to the Pleasure Dome

I enjoyed Inauguration to the Pleasure Dome for it's creative layering of multiple exposure shots. I found the film engaging, without a narrative structure to lead me to conclusions about the film I began searching for patterns to the images. I would count the number of times I saw the pretty blond woman then the times with the woman dressed in black and pink and so on. As the film progressed and the director used more multiple exposures to layer multiple characters on one image it became more important for me to see the patterns in color. The use of color was important to my viewing experience, I was very interested in trying to figure out how the director created such rich and contrasting colors without using CGI. I am curious if there was any tinting involved in the processing of the film. My favorite scene was when the blond goddess walked into the frame surrounded by green fire. The film was very lyrical and I could see the ritualistic themes that were briefly discussed in class. I felt the score was very fitting to the film and was the a key motivation to a lot of sequences. Inauguration to the Pleasure Dome reminded me more like the experience of watching a ballet than a movie.
